Espresso Rave Dublin Turns One — Come Celebrate Sober Rave Dublin

This September marks one year since our very first Espresso Rave event in Dublin.

What started as an idea to create a different kind of dance experience has grown into a Sunday afternoon gathering built around music, movement, coffee and connection.

On Sunday 20 September, we’re celebrating our first birthday at Wigwam Dublin — and more than half the tickets are already sold.

A Different Kind of Sunday - Sober Rave Dublin

Espresso Rave is a daytime dance event for people who love music, movement and good energy.

We dance from 2–4pm, which means you get two hours of proper dance-floor energy and still have the rest of your Sunday evening ahead of you.

Some people come because they don’t drink. Some want something different to do on a Sunday. Others simply love dancing.

You don’t need to be a dancer.

You don’t need to know anyone.

And you definitely don’t need to wait until late at night to get onto a dance floor.

Dance in the Middle of the Day

There is something slightly rebellious about dancing to electronic music in the middle of a Sunday afternoon.

For two hours, you get to step away from work, screens, routines and the usual weekend plans.

The music goes up.

You move.

You connect with the room.

And you leave feeling more energised than when you arrived.

That has always been the heart of Espresso Rave, sober raves in Dublin.

What Keeps People Coming Back

Lorcan has been to most of our Espresso Rave events, and one of the things he enjoys most is that it still feels like a real club experience.

The basement setting at Wigwam, the music and the atmosphere create that feeling of stepping out of everyday life for a couple of hours. But because it happens in the afternoon, it feels much easier to fit into your day.

You still get the buzz, the music and the dance-floor energy — just at a time that feels more accessible.

That mix of proper club atmosphere and daytime freedom is a big part of what makes Espresso Rave different.

One Year of Espresso Rave

Over the past year, we’ve watched people arrive not quite knowing what to expect, grab a coffee, hear the music start and gradually find their way onto the dance floor.

That is the part we love.

There is something brilliant about a room full of people choosing to dance together in the middle of the day simply because it feels good.

Espresso Rave isn’t about performing or knowing the right moves.

It’s about switching off your head for a couple of hours, moving your body and enjoying the music.
